Chunky
Lilly got her 4 months shots today and is grumpily pretending to nap in her crib.
Snug is now 12lb 6oz!
This puts her in the 20th percentile by weight and prompted her pediatrician
to call Snug "chunky".

Budding Paleontologist?
Yesterday, James Gurney signed his book, DINOTOPIA, for Lilly. Today, Snug excitedly tried to dress up as a dinosaur, but only succeeded in looking like a baby in a bear hat.

If It's Sunday (or sometimes Friday), It's Ask Snug!
How to be fabulous!
Snug would like to answer this question from "long-time reader" today, since sources indicate that this reader will be away on Sunday.
You seem to be indicating that wide ties are the way to go for business dress. Can you elaborate on advice for male wardrobes in our new lean times? How can I make as good a first impression as you do? - long-time reader, first-time asker
Dear, long-time reader,
The spring and summer collections of Etro, DSquared, Fendi, Kilgour, and Lanvin revealed that the new male trend is toward no ties, bow ties, and scarves. Here, Snug is modeling the latest fashion in adultware (the baby trend remains "kawaii") that will make a killer first impression: skull-cap, scarf, patterned jumper, and denim shoes.

Gossip Girl
Over a cup of warm milk, Lilly and I gossiped about our extremely eventful day today.
Today, we stopped at the JCC to sign up for music classes; we picked up a comic at The Beguiling; we bought new bottles at Grassroots; and when we got home our water was shut off.

If It's Sunday, It's Ask Snug!
Dear Isnug Merzrahi, temperatures are rising, spring collections are arriving, how will babies be dressing in the new austerity? Can't you tell us a little about your new furnishings line At Home I Snug? -- Atwitter in Sunnyside
The spring and summer collections are, in fact, here. This season's theme can be summed up in one word: KAWAII.
Above photo is a snapshot of what you missed on the runway.
(Left: please note that Lilly is slumping on the new model of the "urban kiddy recliner". Right: the skirt is back in swimwear.)

If It's Sunday (or sometimes Saturday), It's Ask Snug!
NOTE: We apologize for missing last week's "Ask Snug" - we'll be answering two questions this week (today and tomorrow).
Dear Poet Snugstress, we were so moved by your poem on the back page of Pink Elephant Magazine, "I too Snug America," could you speak with us of your inspiration? -- A near Bard
Dear near,
I am flattered that you have mistaken me for one of my favorite poets, Snugston Hughes. I am sure that "I too Snug America" was inspired by real events (I've included the poem below for everyone to enjoy).
********
I, too, snug America.
I am the smaller Boyle.
They make me drink from the bottle
When company comes,
But I laugh,
And eat well,
And grow strong.
Tomorrow,
I'll be at the table
When company comes.
Nobody'll dare
Say to me,
"Drink from the bottle,"
Then.
Besides,
They'll see how chubby I am
And be ashamed--
I, too, am a Boyle.

Snail mail
Lilly received her first piece of mail yesterday (thanks Aaron!). She was thrilled; but it illuminated what she has been missing. Snug hopes that others will send her letters as well - she will treasure them.
(thanks for the hat Mrs. Bole, for the onesie Kapinoses,
for the pants Nana and Grandpa Osik, and for the soother Anna C.!)

Politics in Hard Times
Hey Snug! what do you think about Obama's first presidential visit to Canada? - Anya (a fellow young Canadian)
I'm a big fan of President Obama, so I was excited about his first international visit to "our home and native land" and wore my Obama onesie throughout his entire stay (thanks Quincy!). The RCMP (Royal Canadian Mounted Police) took excellent care of him and inspired me to add the mounties to the list of jobs I want to have when I grow up (others include: explorer, zoo keeper, and hot air balloonist).
