Winter Festival

After months of preparation, the winter festival concert at the daycare was a complete disaster as usual. No one sang, most kids cried, and only a few succeeded in waving their Canadian flags during their rendition of "Oh Canada".




Lillian chose to sit quietly on stage and observe the mayhem.

After the concert we went out for a mango lassi.

When we got home, Lillian spent some time writing in her diary before the bath.

surprisingly, we've recovered from jet lag pretty well :)

On Saturday, Lillian and I traveled back to Toronto from Carmel, while Latham flew to Brisbane, Australia for a conference. Now that she is two years old, Lillian has her own seat on airplanes.

Aunts and uncles

Thanksgiving is the perfect time to have warm private moments with favorite relatives and to catch-up on family gossip.

Happy Thanksgiving

On Thanksgiving morning, Lillian roamed the kitchen in the beautiful house that Bibi and uncle Gerry rented for everyone in Carmel. Thank you!

It was sunny and pleasant as we sat on the porch next to a rosemary plant and quietly observed deer in the back yard.

Glops!

It is never too early to express your personal style. Lillian and I call these cut-off mittens "Glops" - pass it on.

Before our trip out west, we shopped for presents at HMV.

Lillian had an enormous breakfast today. That's her third blueberry and flax waffle.

No more high chair. We continue to make "big girl" changes while we can still use the birthday excuse.

It's Lillian's birthday today!
Yesterday, at the daycare, Lillian wore a crown, and had zucchini bread!

This used to be my playground

We have recently found an amazing playground near us. Unfortunately, a week later, it was bulldozed over. Now, we're back at our old one.

Even though we didn't take Lillian's doggy umbrella to daycare today, we did have some time to play with it in the morning.

Sometimes we check online for fun events around Toronto, but lets be honest, it's a pleasure to flip through the newspaper as well.

A couple of nights ago Lillian decided to put on some sun screen, sun glasses, and shorts. We went out into the hall of our apartment and ran around pretending to be at the beach.

Sometimes, we try to teach her physics.












On other occasions we read.










But it seems that yoga works best.
(Note: Lillian's daycare has yoga classes and,
according to Lillian, the "backwards dog"
position is the most popular among the toddlers.)

Some evenings, after a pleasantly warm bath, Lillian enjoys talking on the phone to family and friends.

We did not go trick-or-treating this year, partly because we live in a condo downtown and partly because Lillian is not yet desirous of candy or dressing up. She did, however, put a peacock costume on her bear and paraded him around her room.
