Best Besties

We had an AMAZING day with Emilia today.

Lillian and Emilia bounced on three different bouncy contraptions (castle, farm, and slide).

They got chocolate swirl soft-serve with sprinkles from their favorite ice cream truck. 

They had an out-of-this-world Oreo croissant called The Crookie from Clafouti.

They rode in a "for real life" fire truck!

I let them borrow my phone to take selfies.

A face painter attempted to make these besties twinsies.

A costume change followed and then the twinsies got identical cake pops.




We ended the day with a trip to the movies to see Despicable Me 2 (again).

Last day of summer camps

Today was the last day of UCC Kids Camp.  Lill loved the camp because in the end of every week it was costume Friday!

Casa Loma

Casa Loma is a real castle in Toronto's downtown.  Last night they opened their beautiful gardens to the public for free.  Lill wore her Belle dress for the occasion, and we pretend played the story of Beauty and the Beast multiple times.

Lillian found a perfectly intact, dead moth in one of the fountains;
we took it home.

The flowers in the gardens were gorgeous - so many colors!

A tree had to be climbed.

And we had to stop and watch couples take wedding photos.

Before heading to bed, and while Latham and I were busy discussing food and current events, Lillian drew her family tree.  I think that the portrait of Latham is the most accurate.

Sunday best

Even though we didn't plan it this way, today turned out to be quite eventful.

We went for a morning swim and then for a segway / scooter ride.

We bought purple wings and visited Kagan McLeod at his "open studio" event today.  (And got a poster of the history of rap signed).  Awesome!

We had dinner at Anna and Peter's place (thanks for the ham!) followed by a tremendous bout of gaming.

What a day!

Lillian went to the dentist today.
Her teeth are perfect!!!!

So, as I reward, I took her to Bulk Barn and let her choose her treat!  Best Mom ever, right?!
