Helper

Today, Lillian helped me shop for groceries -- and as a reward she got a marshmallow-chocolate-kabob.

Latham and I have a blanket that we really like, but recently, Lillian stole it from us.  So, today, I got Lill new linen that she now loves more than our blanket -- it has skulls on it.

A Typical Wednesday Morning

This is breakfast: whole wheat toast with Nutella and bananas, along with bits of ham.

But before breakfast, Lill and Latham built a chair fort with her Marimekko and matryoshka blankets (she is wearing her Elsa costume).

Lillian's artistic style

Lillian is quite used to being photographed by me.  And, on occasion, she gets the art director bug and wants to instruct me on what to photograph. Here are two examples.

Centerville with Sophie

We are so lucky to have an island with an amusement park for kids just a 10 minute ferry ride from downtown.

Lillian, Sophie, and a friend she made whose name I don't know, were delighted to ride the ferry to the island.

One of Lill's favorite rides is the spinning teacup.

Her other favorite is the Scrambler - but it's pitch black inside the ride and no picture could do it justice.

And, of course, no trip to the amusement park is complete without riding an ostrich on the carousel.

a girl for all seasons

It was pouring this evening.  We stayed in to finish our collaborative quadriptych of the seasons that we began a few weeks ago.  Autumn turned out to be our best one yet.

On the tip of my ...

Today, we dyed Lillian's tips fuchsia.
It was everyone's dream come true.  Lillian got pink hair and I got to play hairdresser.

Here is a close-up.

money money money

Today, Lillian opened her own bank account.  It is a "Youth Account" with our bank.  She is the only one who has a card (parents don't get one).  She chose her own pin, and she deposited all the change that she has collected in her piggy bank.

Lillian has fallen in love with the Henrik Thor-Larsen Ovalia Egg Chair in the classic white and red design.  It costs $1,000.  I told Lill that if she collected the money for it, then she could get it.

Thus, we opened a bank account for her.  We are 7.3% there.
