the cool cat in the hat

After trying on a number of hats this morning at daycare, Lillian decided that this white one would go best with her black turtleneck, jeans, and crocks.

Apple picking

We took a long ride out to the Willis Family Farm in Milton, Ontario to go apple picking. As expected, Lillian enjoyed all aspects of the trip: waiting for the train, pulling apples off trees, and having a raspberry snack in the pumpkin patch.

Pocket skills

Yesterday, we went to the ROM (natural history museum to which we belong), explored the gems and minerals collection, and bought some rocks. Lillian walked around the museum with her hands in her pockets the entire time.

pen pals

On Wednesday, Lillian had to stay home because she developed Hand, Foot, Mouth disease. She is fine today and back at daycare. While at home though, she realized that she missed her daycare peeps very much and she wrote letters to everyone.

Happy 22 months Lillian!

The weekend was spent relaxing, reading, and enjoying food (sushi dinner on Friday night and Latham's famous chocolate chip pancakes on Saturday morning).

Delayed

Our flight back had to be delayed a day. We stayed at a hotel in Albuquerque where a Sci-Fi convention raged. We slept, took photos of ourselves, and tried not to interrupt Latham's work.

In charge

During our entire trip to New Mexico, Lillian was mostly in charge of her own food, both at the house where we stayed and in the restaurants.

the plane

Lillian loved the airport and had a
surprisingly good time on the airplane.

Even with a couple of layovers, she found ways to amuse herself that were a delight to everyone around us. She read books, took naps and snored extremely loudly, stood on my thighs and looking back over my shoulder pointed and shouted "Man sleeping!" And, of course, insisted on having a shadow puppet theater.

Lillian fell asleep on the way to daycare today.
