Branching out

New food love: tandoori chicken.

8 years

This year, like every year, we bring a holiday basket to the St. Mike's NICU. It was really touching this year when the nurses recognized us. We all had a good and happy cry.

X-mas things

Thank you so much to Sophie (and her parents) for having Lill over for a sleepover this past weekend.

Lill got a chance to decorate a tree ...

... and learn about "Elf on the shelf."

I am thinking that I should also introduce her to "Mensch on a bench."

new bob

We went back to Trevor this year to get a  new haircut. He opened extra early just for us, and made Lill tea just how she likes it.

Starbucks morning

We went to Starbucks to get breakfast, and Lill ordered an "everything" bagel. She looked at the barista and asked, "Why is it called an everything bagel; it clearly doesn't have EVERYTHING on it?"

Student led conferences

Every semester, at Branksome, they have something they call "Student led conferences." This is when parents come for about 1 hour, and the students show them everything they have done thus far in the semester. Here are some of the things that Lill showed me last week.

Her superb basketball skills.

Her painting in the style of Norval Morriseau (an Aboriginal Canadian artist, known as "Picasso of the North").

Her ozobot, that is programmed to move along a drawn path.

And her skull and bones art portfolio.
