Frida's "Will"

Today, Lillian got a calligraphy feather pen.
This afternoon, she decided that she wanted to write "Gramma Frida's will".
I realized that what she actually wanted to do, was write a biography of Frida in Russian.

Here it is:

For those who do not speak Russian, here is the translation:

"Frida will
She was born in 1923.
She married Simon.
They had daughters.
Simon lived 77 years.
Frida lived 88 years.
They moved to America in 1988.
They loved their grandchildren.

We were delighted to have a good laugh about it when it was over.

mother's day card

Lillian made me this beautiful card. It's a picture of me and her on stage with a spotlight shining on us and the audience throwing roses.

A short comic

Inspired by our trip to the Toronto Comic Arts Festival, Lillian made a one-panel comic.  It is called, "Bee Girl Finds a Cake."  The picture is of a a girl who is imagining a purple turtle who in turn is imagining four clouds.

meeting celebrities

This weekend Lillian got to meet one of her favourite authors, Jon Klassen.  He wrote "I Want My Hat Back," and "This Is Not My Hat."

WINNER!

This evening was the award ceremony for the Toronto Public Library 2014 Bookmark Contest winners. There were 5,000 submissions and only 16 winners. Lillian was one of the winners!!! She received an award and 100 copies of her bookmark.

Swimming with Johnny Featherears

After we finished putting together the 3D glow-in-the-dark dragon, we took him swimming today.  Lill says that his name is Johnny Featherears.

After being away for five days, daddy is home!!!
On the way from the airport, we stopped by the lake to get ice cream and play on the swings.

home alone

Latham is away and we miss him very much. However, we did have a pretty fabulous evening by ourselves.  We both had chicken and veggies for dinner (super healthy).  This was followed by a long hot bath.  Then Lillian read four books to me! I fell over when she read the word "planetarium" (that's 11 letters long!).  And then we worked on assembling a glow in the dark dragon.
