If It's Sunday, It's Ask Snug!

Isn't "Snagged" the correct form of the past participle?
- Querulously,
Q. Shorebird

Dear Q.,

Trick
y question! Note that the sentences "Latham got snagged in a risky bank heist" and "Latham got Snug in a risky bank heist" mean totally different things.

  1. Thanks for the reply. If it's Middle English we're talking about, I should think the correct way to put it is "Latham gaet snoog inna riksy Bank Hoost." Cp. Chaucer, "The Larcener's Tale": "Ee gaet snoog anna rutted in Jaelle."

But at any rate, I suggest you stick to answering the questions of my prodigiously productive partner R. Shorebird, which are evidently numerous and undoubtedly more appealing to a popular taste. Perhaps we can have something about cosmetics, or the adopted pets of Hollywood starlets. Certainly not more grammar! Whom has the time in our rushed and scampered era?

    Always yours,
    Q.S.
