Gingerbread Hut

This afternoon, before dinner, Lillian and I made a gingerbread "house."

We actually made Hagrid's hut.

That's Ron, Harry, and Hermione, going to visit Hagrid.

Ron has a beard and orange gummy hair.

One of the gifts that Lillian received this year (from her friend Isabella) was a book of DC comics super heroes. It has been a surprisingly successful present. We have already devoured this book from start to finish of Sunday. And this morning, Lillian was reading it during breakfast.

Lillian got an iPad mini this morning for her birthday.

She also woke up to a room full of balloons.

We love balloons.

Today's dinner consisted of Lill's new favorite food combo: honey-dijon chicken wings, Zima mini orange tomatoes, and baby cucumbers (mayo and ketchup on the side).

Lillian's school now demands that we only bring snacks from nut-free facilities. So, for Lill's birthday, I had to find a nut-free bakery that would also make cupcakes with skulls, blood, and brains on them.
Nailed it!

Robot

Lillian continues to be inspired by the "Big Hero 6" movie (which is about a boy who builds awesome robots). This weekend, Latham and Lillian built a robot that draws circles.

Science Center Superstars

We went to the Ontario Science Centre with Aija today, and it was tremendous fun.

There was the spooky elephant heart ... 

... the cardboard space suits ....

... and much much more ...

... than I can ...

... describe here.

Girls' day out

Lillian and I had a great and super tiring day today.
We went climbing with Emilia.

And then to the movies to see the 3D "Big Hero 6," which was GREAT!! That's Lill next to the main character, Baymax.

After the movie we went to a games store and bought a Baymax action figure.

When we got home, the three of us went swimming (me, Lill, and Baymax).

We had sushi dinner and are about to take a bath and go to sleep.

Tomorrow we have a playdate with Aija.

Anna and Peter are babysitting tonight, while Latham and I will be out.
I gave Lill an early bath today and while in it, she began discussing her plans for next year's Halloween.
LILLIAN: I am going to be the Corpse Bride next year for Halloween.
ME: What should I be?
LILLIAN: You should be a damsel that's destroyed.
ME: I think that you mean "a damsel in distress."
LILLIAN: No, I mean, a lady with lots of holes in her body, like she is completely destroyed.

Lill also had an early dinner of chicken wings. She wore her mummy dress and we read her Wizardology book while we ate.

Lillian is in a clay club at school. Today, she taught me how to make a cupcake out of playdough.
