Holiday treats

Today is Lillian's holiday party at school.  We brought it this cookie diorama for the celebration (everything is nut-free and edible).  Thank you so much Kim for making JKs at Branksome so happy today!

Student Led Conferences

Once a semester, Branksome Hall does something called Student led Conferences.   Parents visit the school for about an hour and the students take them around and explain what they do day to day.  There are no classes that day.  It's just the student and her own parents, walking around together.  Here, Lillian is explaining what they learned thus far in music class.  This is a really big deal for the students.  They practice for a week; and on the day that we come, they walk around with a clip board and check off all of the subjects on their list to show.  It's very enjoyable for everyone.

Lillian and I talk a lot about how our food can be beautiful and we try to arrange it in various interesting ways on our plates (our plates are square - like canvases).  Everything you see on this plate was designed by Lillian.

I forgot about this photo.  When Lillian and I were preparing for her birthday parties, I was blowing up balloons and Lillian was holding them in her mouth and letting the air out on her face for fun.

we got a tree ...

This weekend we bought our biggest tree yet.  Lillian got to choose.  She chose a purple tree. It's hard to see in this picture, but it is, in fact, dark purple.  We made our own ornaments and hung them up.
