What to do on a sick day
Lillian is super sick with a cold today.
Wheezy, sneezy, no-voicy ...
She had to miss two birthday parties:
a magic show party and a cooking party.
So, instead, we drank hot chocolate,
watched the Russian "Snow Queen,"
had sushi for lunch, and built a
"Grumpy Grandpa" robot (thanks Nana) ...
and made a heart out of candy --
we call it "Sweetheart."
It is an anatomically correct sectional view.

Late night soma
Last night, in the middle of the night, Latham had the idea that we could hot glue the cubes from our Qwirkle game (which we haven't played in a year) and make the necessary puzzle pieces for a soma cube.
We were done at around 2am and when Lill woke up ...
... she couldn't stop constructing objects with them. Here is her own invention -- the high chair.
We've been playing for hours.

We have a molar!!
BIG NEWS!!! HUGE!!
Lillian's first tooth just erupted!
She has not lost any teeth yet -- it is her bottom left first molar that has appeared.
We were unsure what to do in terms of the tooth fairy. Since there are no fallen teeth to put under the pillow, it is unclear how the tooth fairy will react. Uncle Matt advised paying the tooth fairy. And Lillian dutifully put three quarters (CAD) next to her alarm. We'll see what the morning brings.
making resolutions
Yesterday, we wrote out our resolutions for 2015.
Here is Lillian's:
1. Play Harry Potter for 24 hours
2. Get to level N (that's the expected reading level for second graders)
3. Try out for Frozen (the first and second graders are doing Frozen in the spring)
4. Learn all Mandarin (Lillian is starting her private Mandarin classes again this week)
5. Get water bottle just like Elina (she loves my new water bottle and would like one too)
6. Invite
1. Emilia
2. Isabella
3. In third grade, invite Trinity
