Poetry slam

Yesterday, Lillian competed in a Mandarin poetry recital competition.
And even though she did not win, everyone had a great time.
She recited a poem called, "Daddy is Snoring Like a Train."

At Bruce's Mill with Aija

Mid March is maple syrup season. We went to Bruce's Mill with Aija and Nyls today to enjoy the terribly cold weather (-16C with windchill).

Lill loved riding a pony ....

carrying a yoke ...

sitting by a fire with friends ....

and eating a delicious maple pancake. Yum!

Crazy hair

This week Lillian is attending March Break Camp at the Art Gallery of Ontario. It is just a 20 minute walk to the gallery. On our way home, yesterday, it was incredibly windy and we really loved how crazy our hair shadows appeared on the sidewalk.

That's my jam

This Sunday, Lillian had her first piano recital of the year. (Thank you Anna and Peter for coming!!!). She played a Czech modernist piece called, "The Merry Postman," and her own composition titled, "Rabbit, Rabbit."

This is Lola, Radka (Lill's teacher), and Lillian.

In addition to playing their music, all of the performers projected images illustrating their visual interpretations of the pieces.
